CEO Barry Robinson Inspires at Coastal Carolina University's Sustainability Symposium

Coastal Carolina University recently hosted its third annual Sustainability Symposium on April 1–2, 2025, sponsored by the President’s Council for Sustainability and Coastal Resilience. The event brought together experts, students, and community members for two days of engaging panel discussions, research showcases, and collaborative opportunities to tackle climate challenges and build a more resilient future.

Among this year’s standout guests was Barry Robinson, a South Carolina resident, U.S. veteran, and CEO of Robinson Services, LLC and E&G Flagship. As an Aptera Ambassador, his work in sustainable automotive solutions is garnering attention both statewide and nationally. Robinson energized the symposium by displaying a minature model Aptera solar electric vehicle, drawing enthusiastic crowds and sparking conversations about the future of green transportation.

Robinson also took time to connect with students, sharing insights into the intersection of innovation, sustainability, and entrepreneurship. “It was incredible to see so many young and passionate minds,” he said. “Their curiosity and drive remind me why I do this work.”

Looking ahead, Robinson announced his company’s commitment to the 'Freedom to Electrify to Go Green' initiative—a grassroots campaign dedicated to promoting clean energy transportation, including the use of solar and wind power across the country. A U.S. tour featuring Aptera cars is in the works, with official dates set to be announced in late spring or early summer.

This year’s symposium underscored the power of partnership and the vital role of sustainable innovation in shaping a better tomorrow.
